Sharon and I spent a short but fun weekend down in Westcliffe – a small ranching community in the Wet Mountain Valley, south central Colorado. We saw some great old 1900′s architecture and met a few locals who indicated an interest in having us come down for an investigation (plus, awesome cemeteries). We had most of our equipment, but everyone was short on time. There are a couple of properties that sound like they’d be fruitful and we’ll keep you posted when/if something comes of it.
After a somewhat late evening, we were a little slow getting out of bed Sunday morning. All of a sudden, both of us heard what could only be described a growl in the room. Door was closed, activity outside was minimal and appropriately muffled. It was very odd, and a rare event for both of us. The innkeepers, with whom we chatted the prior afternoon upon arrival for 30 minutes about cemeteries and local ghost lore, never once indicated their property was haunted, and they certainly had ample opportunity to do so.
Whatever it was, we didn’t hear it again, and as we were late getting going, didn’t bother breaking out the devices.
But…yeah, a little weird.
