We’ve added some new cemeteries shots to the Gallery, this time from Huerfano County, CO. Mostly rural area southwest of Colorado Springs, draped across immense valleys between the high ridges of the Sangre de Cristo foothills, Huerfano County has a long heritage of ranching and farming, heavily influenced by Hispanic culture. Several of the smaller cemeteries we visited – Chama, Gonzales , Chavez- were virtually all Hispanic. We have several more to hit down there.

We’ve also added one more from close to home, Foothills Garden of Memories, in northern Boulder County. While we have an admitted bias against “flatties” (cemeteries containing all or almost all ground-level stones), we were out on the road doing other things last weekend and stopped in to pay respects. It was Memorial Day weekend and number of volunteers were walking around planting flags beside graves of veterens.
