Hi everyone…we’ve been a bit slow the last several weeks, but spring is coming and updates will be coming more regularly.
We completed an investigation in the high country of Colorado a few weeks ago. It was one of the coldest days we’ve had here in Colorado (it was 2 degrees Fahrenheit when we arrived at the property…brrr) and a bit of a drive, but we try not to pass up any opportunities.

The investigation centered on a small house in the south central Rockies about 40 miles from Colorado Springs. The resident there contacted us and asked for assistance with a seemingly endless stream of voices resonating in his ears (primary claim), as well as occasional “raps” on the wall inside and outside the house. He did not report any visual phenomena or poltergeist activity. He has also been taking some of his own EVP recordings and examining photos, which he showed us for our evaluation.
In both the preliminary and in-person interviews we did with him, it struck us quite distinctly that the voices the resident was hearing were internalized : specifically, that he heard them in his head, rather than hearing them as external auditory phenomena occuring in his living area.
This kind of phenomenon may be sourced to any number of things – spiritual, psychological – but may also represent a genuine spirit intrusion.
In any case, we set up video and still/static cameras, took extensive EMF readings outside (it was about 0 degrees by this time) and inside the house, which had only been built about 6 months earlier, and conducted several audio recording sessions looking for EVP.
The video footage reveals nothing extraordinary. We captured a number of “orb” photographs on the static interval shoot camera – one or two of were was somewhat intriguing. (Note, we do NOT routinely characterize “orbs” as evidence of spirit activity. We have a fairly rigid protocol for that, you can read about it here…)

We DID find that the small wall furnace used to heat the place was throwing off a staggering amount of EMF; when the furnace switched on, to blow warm air into the house, our MEL meter actually pegged in excess of 300mg.

High EMF readings have been linked to psychological and psycho-physical effects on some people; feelings of paranoia, the sense of being “watched”, sleeplessness, depression.
The resident had reported that he had recently lost his mother, but in fact, that the “voices” had been in hiss head for some time, several years, but had increased in the last six months or so, prior to the passing of his mother. Also, they had started long before he occupied this particular house – he was living in an older house on this property, and heard them there too.
A review of the still photos also revealed an interesting image on a kitchen cabinet facade, what looks a little like a “face”. We believe this is visual matrixing and do not consider it paranormal in nature.

We spent about two hours at the property in total. Our conclusion: while we did not doubt that the client was experiencing anomalous voices, we could not validate through our standard investigative process that the voices were externalizd in any way. On a number of occasions, he indicated during our interview that he “heard” the voice or voices responding and reacting to our presence there, but the voice recorders we had running did not pick up anything, nor did we hear anything in real time.
Our followup with the client indicated:
1) We were unable to validate that the phemonena he is experiencing is in any way external, meaning the result of contact from an external source.
2) We were unable to validate the recordings he played for us and the images captured on his digital still camera represented anything paranormal.
3) We were able to validate that his furnace was throwing off a horrendus amount of EMF emissions, and that some people react very adversely to this.
4) We counseled him that he should continue to seek answers and guidance from those better versed in purely spritual matters, and that he should consider a house blessing or cleansing to gain some peace of mind.
